Erica Gibson has a penchant for the unique and mysterious. In her mixed-media sculptures, she  transforms reclaimed objects with hand-sculpted clay faces and figures to bring them to life. Thoughtful and introspective, real and imagined, she weaves the objects' stories together with her own to create enchanting and enigmatic stories. Having a reverence for the earth and the complexities of human emotions, she continually strives to create a connection between us and our planet.

"I'm captivated by aged objects. They speak with a quiet energy that new materials simply can't replicate. There's something deeply satisfying about discovering old wooden pieces and embellishing them to bring their hidden stories to life."

Erica has exhibited her artwork in galleries, art fairs and alternative spaces throughout the Pacific Northwest. Raised in the Seattle area, she now lives in Portland where she has resided over 20 years. She has hosted art classes and demos teaching painting, sculpting and creative reuse.
